Purpose: To support library and information science doctoral students working with their dissertation.
Focus: Library and archival sciences.
Qualifications: Applicant must be a doctoral student in library and information science; has advanced candidacy with all requirements for degree completed except writing and defense of dissertation. CRITERIA: The Scholarship Committee meets during May, and the recipients are announced at the annual meeting in June.
Funds: $3000. Number of Awards: 6. TO APPLY: Applicants must submit a completed application form together with the abstract of the dissertation (maximum of 300 words); Letter of approval from the Dean or Director; personal statement (maximum of 500 words) on post-dissertation plans; and three letters of reference sent to the address on the application.
