Information on Federal and State financial aid programs is available with minimal entries in the Financial Aid Calculator. However, to find if you qualify for possible financial aid for the 2010-2011 school year, it will be helpful to have the following information available:
  • Your 2009 W-2 Forms and other records of money earned
  • Your (and your spouse's, if you are married) 2009 Federal Income Tax Return - IRS Form 1040, 1040A, 1040EZ, 1040TeleFile, foreign tax return, or tax return for Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Marshall Islands, or the Federated States of Micronesia. If you have not yet filed a 2009 income tax return, simply provide the income and tax information with your best estimate
  • Your parents' 2009 Federal Income Tax Return information (if you are a dependent student )
  • Your 2009 untaxed income records - such as Social Security, payments to tax-deferred pension and savings plans, child support received, IRA deductions and payments to self-employed SEP, SIMPLE, and Keogh plans, tax exempt interest income, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, welfare, or veterans benefits records. Include the same information for your parents if you are a dependent student
  • Your current bank statements
  • Information on savings, investments, and business and farm assets for yourself, and your parents if you are a dependent student.

The following additional information is required for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application:

  • Your Social Security Number (found on your Social Security card) and your parent(s) Social Security number(s) if you are a dependent student
  • Your driver's license (if any)
  • Your alien registration number if you are not a U.S. citizen
  • An e-mail address for correspondence.
Submit your application as early as possible, but no earlier than January 1, 2010. The deadline for some state aid may be as early as January 2010.
